The lift now helps to determine the design

News

The stainless steel specialist Rimex Metals wants to cover all areas of lift design with its trade fair appearance at this year's interlift. Meeting lift planners’ wishes when it comes to lift design is a key objective.

Lift building has altered greatly in recent years. The design of lifts has suddenly come to play a central role in realising innovative architectural concepts. Architects and designers are increasingly striving to realise ambitious designs with as few harmoniously coordinated materials as possible.

In search of a uniform concept, investors and architects are discovering in stainless steel with increasing frequency a robust and timelessly elegant material, which is available in a multitude of versions from the entry facade and lobby to the lift.

Various surfaces and colour options

In consultation with the stainless steel sheet supplier, the lift planner or architect can select a surface that establishes an optical connection between the various components (car, frame, control panel). The colouring of the surface could be provided to match, Rimex Metals emphasised. "This opens up a way for lift builders and industry to distinguish themselves from the competition – away from the run of the mill and hence from price pressure," explained Bruno Rösch, the company’s managing director.

In Augsburg, the company will be displaying various surfaces and colour options, including gold, bronze, black and other coloured and processed surfaces. It will also have a door with Meiller functionality in coloured stainless steel and a frame model from the Austrian specialist M-Tron at its stand.

In addition, the stainless steel manufacturer is presenting a further development of the "Leinen OneTex" surface in a large format of 1,500 mm width – a novelty that thanks to a second design system in the United Kingdom offers further options for the car and door construction.
