New coating for metallic surfaces
Aesthetics in lift building: the new CernoTex coating from Rimex Metals was developed to seal high quality steel designs.
A lift has now become more than just a means of transport. According to the company, it was a style element for contemporary architecture, which should fit in with the remaining building design. At the same time, the materials had to withstand the constant stress of passenger traffic over many years.

According to the company, Rimex Metals Group had "developed an aesthetic and easy to maintain surface coating, which combines precisely this" in the form of the new anti-fingerprint coating CernoTex.
Cleaning easier and faster
The CernoTex coating was intended to greatly reduce the effort for cleaning and maintaining metallic surfaces. "Particularly when it comes to operating lifts, this factor is an important additional benefit for the operator and as a result a good argument both for investors as well as a USP for lift builders submitting tenders," according to the Rimex Metals Group.

Fingerprints and soiling were far less evident on the hydrophobic surface and cleaning was easier and faster – consequently, stainless steel surfaces should remain aesthetic longer, the company emphasised. CernoTex was suitable for use on ground, decorated or blasted stainless steel panels, with or without colouring.
Processing of sheet metal coated with CernoTex was in principle identical to that of standard sheet metal or coloured stainless steel panels. Cutting to size was performed using a laser or manually, edging and bending procedures were possible as usual.
