The venue for the 10th Lift & Escalator Symposium on September 18-19th 2019 was the Highgate House Hotel near Northampton in the UK. The event is organised by ‘The Lift and Escalator Symposium Educational Trust’ which has the objective to advance education in lifts, escalators and related technologies. The Trust is a Registered Charity and is supported by The University of Northampton, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and The Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA).
Over the two days 118 lift professionals heard 22 papers on various lift related topics. The presentations covered engineering, project planning, lift simulations, code and educational issues. In addition, there was a small exhibition in the lobby. The next Lift & Escalator Symposium is to be held in China (4-5 May 2020) and will be followed next year at Highgate House again on the 23rd- 24th September 2020.
Full coverage of the event can be seen in the sixth issue of Lift Journal. It will be published on December 4th.
