Otis door drive conversion solution developed
In recent years, Otis has integrated various activation versions in its door controllers.
This has made modernisation correspondingly complicated and replacement with a door controller from an alternative manufacturer very elaborate, according to Langer & Laumann. They have now developed a solution.
Especially when using the Otis MCS4xx/MCS3xx lift controllers with serial multi-drop activation of the DCSSx door controller (Fig. 1), replacing the door drive quickly with a modern linear door drive was hardly possible.
Two different expansion cards
According to the company itself, Langer & Laumann is specialised in the fast, affordable modernisation of lift door drives and has developed a simple solution for plug-compatible replacement of all Otis connection versions. Consequently, the conversion of Otis door drives can also be carried out by relatively inexperienced fitters.
Two different expansion cards were developed for the Langer & Laumann door controller (TSG). One version serves as a replacement for the AT120 and the new Otis Glide (or also Ledo). The second version replaces the more powerful Otis DCSSx door drives, which can be activated via the 3-wire, discreet or serial multi-drop connection.
Easy replacement is guaranteed
Easy replacement by the TSG is guaranteed by the connection compatible socket on the L&L expansion card. The various activation types and configuration of the DCSS versions can be adjusted on the TSG.
Even if the lift controller is later replaced, there are no problems according to Langer & Laumann, since the TSG can then be activated with very little effort with discreet signals (24V) or via the CiA 417 CanOpen lift profile.
