Niggemeier & Leurs take over the business of Schmoley

Aufzug- und Fördertechnik Niggemeier & Leurs GmbH took over the business operations of Schmoley from Essen on 1 November 2024.

The company from Bottrop (Germany) aims to send a clear signal with this step for further growth and reinforcement of its market position in the region. The takeover also means company has expanded its field of business in the area of door and gate systems.

Niggemeier & Leurs has been well-known as a provider of solutions in lift & conveyance technology as well as in the field of doors, gates and access systems for over 50 years. "By integrating Schmoley, which also has many years of experience in this segment, we have expanded our portfolio and can now respond even more flexibly and efficiently to customer needs," the company press statement revealed.

The takeover of Schmoley by Niggemeier & Leurs was another important step towards strengthening the regional small business base. "Particularly at a time when companies are increasingly often coming up against challenges like the shortage of skilled labour and economic uncertainty, committing to strong partnerships and continuous growth is vital," explained the managing partner, Lutz Leurs.

Leurs emphasised that the acquisition of knowledge and experience through taking over Schmoley was a decisive advantage for Niggemeier & Leurs. "The employees of Schmoley, who we are also taking on, contribute valuable know-how in the fields of door and gate systems."

Thanks to the takeover of Schmoley, even faster and more flexible reaction to customer requirements would be possible - whether in planning new door and gate systems or in the fast provision of services, according to Lutz Leurs.
