The lift company Kone has taken over the maintenance and emergency call business of the Austrian Flügel Aufzüge GmbH as of 1 January 2023.
The transfer of the operational business will take place on 1 April 2023, when all maintenance and emergency call centre staff will also transfer from Flügel Aufzüge to Kone, as well as the responsible office staff.
The Vienna-based, nationwide family-owned company Flügel Aufzüge intends to focus on new construction business in the future. "Our company has reached a point where demand exceeds our capacities," explains managing director Klaus Flügel. "By divesting the maintenance business, we can make even better use of our growth potential in the new construction business."
The safe operation of the more than 600 lifts is ensured at all times, says the Kone press release. This is ensured by a joint project team of both companies. It is preparing the transfer of the systems, which have been jointly supported since the beginning of January 2023, to the Kone service division. It is also pushing ahead with the connection of the systems to the Kone emergency call centre.
"With the acquisition of the maintenance business, Kone is strengthening its market position," comments Petru Huurinainen, Managing Director Kone Austria. "Our course is and remains clearly focused on growth."
