Hoist car and drive system: Lighter and more energy efficient
The Swedish manufacturer Almak has launched a lightweight hoist car and drive system in the form of the Scando 650a.
The Scando 650 construction hoist requires less energy consumption to operate thanks to its lightweight design and energy-efficient electric motors according to the Swedish manufacturer. The latest version of the construction hoist weighed 33 percent less and its energy consumption was up to 28 % lower than previous models.
According to Alimak, the Scando 650 made from 97.5 percent recyclable materials, with Alimak’s manufacturing process using 100% renewable energy with low CO2 impact. This made the product "one of the most sustainable construction hoists in the world."
Straightforward to manoeuvre

The new construction hoist offers a lifting height of up to 200 m as standard, and if needed, the maximum lifting height can be increased to 400 m upon request. The hoist car-size is 1.5 m x 3.9 m x 2.3 m (W x L x H), allowing for ease of storage and making the hoist straightforward to manoeuvre.
Alimak states the maximum payload capacity of the hoist to be 3,000 kg. The Scando 650a can reach speeds of 76 –100 m/min. Users can connect remotely via the online monitoring portal "My Alimak" with the construction hoist.
