First “notified body” for Machine Directive
TÜV Süd has been recognised and listed as the worldwide first notified body on the European NANDO website for the new Machine Regulation.
January 2019
Since 1 September 2017, lift control devices throughout Europe must meet the new requirements of the new standards EN 81-20 and EN 81-50.
Zander Aachen developed the SR3E from the SR series especially for use as a safety component in lifts according to the latest version of EN 81-20 and EN 81-50.
Compared to conventional safety switching devices, safety components for use in lifts must meet enhanced regulatory requirements, for example in creepage and clearance paths, mechanical stress (oscillations, shocks) and enhanced fault safety.
EN 81-20 defines the guidelines for the design and technical characteristics of safety components in lifts and the conditions that must be observed during installation of lifts.
By contrast, EN 81-50 defines how components are to be tested and lifts inspected. For example, all lifts must be fitted with light grids on the doors and guarantee improved halting precision.
The new development from Zander Aachen, the SR3E from the SR series, was especially developed for use as a safety component in lifts according to the latest version of EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 and has been certified by TÜV Rhineland.
The advantage is that the relay has also been licensed for use in the car body/lift car – this means shorter wiring and a saving of space. Additional certification up to PL e, SILCL 3, category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1 / EN 62061 / EN 61508 facilitates a wide range of use.
The safety switching device has three safe relay contacts and a signal contact and is intended for safety-oriented monitoring of one- or two-channel signal transmitters.
Three status LEDs are available for diagnosis. Apart from the status of the relay contacts K1, K2, the operating voltage is also displayed. The slender design, with a width of just 22.5 mm, guarantees uncomplicated assembly on a 35 mm bearing rail according to EN 60715.
The different versions with fixed or plug-in screw terminals and plug-in double draw spring terminals permit fast, safe wiring as the customer prefers.
