Questions, facts and tips for the interlift!

News

In a few days, the time will have come: thousands of people from the worldwide lift sector will get together in Augsburg. The trade fair organiser AFAG has compiled some tips and information for first-time visitors and old hands.

1. What makes attendance worthwhile?

interlift 2023 is the most important event of the lift sector. Over 500 companies from 38 countries will be presenting the innovations of the world market in Augsburg. 73 percent of the exhibitors have their headquarters outside Germany – more international than ever! The trade public is also very international – the international share was most recently 54 percent. The proportion of decision-makers among them is also extremely high: 86 percent were involved in the investment decisions of their companies. interlift is simply a must for everyone employed in the lift sector.

2. What nations are most strongly represented?

Germany tops the list of nations represented with 27 percent of the exhibitors of interlift 2023. As before, Italy is the next strongest: 27 percent of the non-German exhibitors come from there. It is followed by Turkey with 18 percent and China with 15 percent, Spain with 9 percent and India has moved up to fifth place with 4 percent – not least thanks to its large joint presentation.

3. There are over 500 exhibitors. How do I find a particular company?

Nothing could be easier: the best thing to do is to find out about the positioning of the exhibitors before your attendance on our website at interlift.de/en/exhibitors/. Apart from the hall and stand number, many companies also provide information about the innovations to be seen at the interlift. As usual, the trade fair newspaper of the LIFTjournal will provide an alphabetical list of all exhibitors directly at the interlift.

4. Where can you go in the evenings?

Augsburg and its surroundings offer a wide variety of cuisines - from simple and tasty specialities to starred restaurants. You can find information about this on the familiar platforms.

5. Trade fairs are strenuous. Where can you sit down for a change at the interlift and perhaps also learn something?

The VFA-Forum interlift ’23 with over 40 international specialist talks provides the perfect supplement to the trade fair. One highlight will undoubtedly be the SME special on the opening day of the trade fair with contributions on changes in European regulations. Other subjects will be digitalisation, artificial intelligence and cyber security. Incidentally, the programme will also be in the trade fair newspaper of the LIFTjournal 😉 …

6. To wake up or for the break: what culinary offerings will there be this time?

The culinary offerings at interlift 2023 have been greatly expanded. For example, visitors who have just arrived can already refresh themselves in the foyer of Hall 1 at the "Snack Point" while in Hall 2 the café at the stand of the VFA-interlift tempts with hot beverages and small snacks. Mediterranean cuisine is served in the Tafeldecker restaurant in Hall 3, in Hall 4 the new caterer operates a bistro for occasional snacks, in Hall 6 Tafeldecker serves Bavarian-Swabian cuisine and - last but not least - typical specialities on the grounds of Messe Augsburg.

7. Any more practical tips?

Things will be far more convenient in the early mornings: we now have three entries as a result of which the traffic jams should be greatly reduced.

8. Climate protection is an important topic. How can visitors contribute to this?

Arriving by train is an option for visitors from Germany and neighbouring countries in terms of sustainability. The organiser, AFAG, has organised a public transport connection for the journey from the central railway station. There is also a convenient shuttle bus connection with Messe Augsburg to the Munich airport and Munich central bus station. You can find all the information on this at our website.

9. And what is the trade fair organiser AFAG doing?

The German trade fair business has set itself the goal of becoming climate neutral by 2040 … The subject of climate neutrality is regarded as a development goal by the AFAG but in sectoral terms this is not a task for just one organisation. As part of the German trade fair organisation, we are represented on the topic in the associations and work groups. Joint uniform standards on the realisation of the joint goal are being prepared here. The AFAG is already implementing portions of these concepts together with its partners where this is possible in isolation.
