Patrick Bass Appointed CEO of the Cedes Group

After ten years at the helm of Cedes, Christian-Erik Thöny hands over to Patrick Bass, former CEO of Thyssenkrupp North America and IoT Business Leader at Cedes.

During his 21 years with TKE and Thyssen Krupp AG, Patrick Bass dealt with every aspect of the business, including elevator service, sales, and R&D, taking on the roles of CTO and finally CEO of Thyssenkrupp North America. Since September 2021, he has been in charge of the IoT business development for Cedes. Bass will lead the company`s digital transformation.

Christian-Erik Thöny commented: "I’m proud to hand my role over to a powerful manager with such profound elevator industry experience and a former leader within a Fortune 500 company. "

During his ten years as CEO, Thöny has among other things founded two new subsidiaries and introduced a new generation of 3D sensors and, most recently, kicking off the company`s IoT journey. He will stay with Cedes until the end of this year, supporting the new CEO during the transition period. Starting 2024, Thöny will keep his ties to the company as President of the Board, Member of the Advisory Board and consultant for special projects.
