Next generation emergency calling

News

Notrufzentrale Behnke will be presenting its lift emergency call and connection product range in Hall 3, Stand 3130 at the interlift 2019. A new "all-rounder" will be on display: the Behnke LTE gateway.

The Behnke LTE gateway either supplies a current analogue emergency call telephone or up to four building- or car modules via a two-wire connection. Depending on the terminal, the gateway either establishes an analogue (via DTMF) or digital (via IP) connection for devices at the Behnke "Elevator Building Security Center" (EBS).

The emergency call control station based on the Behnke EBS centre will be another highlight at the trade fair. This provides the option to operate the server application for integration in the local network as a separate dedicated network (V-LAN), as an external network or one operating across numerous sites (cloud service) or as a stand-alone control station.

Complete local solution

The coming NGN device generation from Behnke (LTE or IP gateways) and the EBS Centre will provide operators with a complete local solution, which operates independently of the existing telephone system.

By 2020 all lifts, including those already installed and approved, are to be fitted with an EN 81-28 compliant emergency call system. According to the company, its new solutions made it possible to convert missing or inadequate emergency call equipment (retrofitting obligation in the absence of a two-way communication system) to comply with the standard, up to and including a fully-compatible connection to a GSM or LTE gateway.
