Digitalisation offensive at Ascendor Lifttechnik

News

The Austrian lift builder Ascendor intends to meet the rising demand for barrier-free solutions: for this purpose, it has developed a new product configurator.

With the product configurator all lifts can be presented as finished 3D BIM models. Ascendor above all wishes to support specialist trade partners and architects with this.

A finished 3D view of the lift can be created in a few minutes with the online configurator. "This will provide significant support in advising customers and order processing for specialist trade partners. Architects and planners will in addition benefit from the drawing creation, which can be customised according to the plans, and from the plausibility check," the company emphasised.

Ascendor will provide standardised data according to international standards with the BIM model. Access by different 3D planning software to the BIM model occurs independently of language. This will make it clear what the building will look like in the building.

Easier drawing creation

The interactive configurator includes various types of logic, which provide a multitude of options for dynamic adjustment of the lift. The online BIM tool has 155 different export formats, including STEP, DXF, DWG, and many more. The drawing programs Allplan, Spirit, Autodesk Revit, Bentley, MagiCAD, SketchUp, Grahisoft Archicad and PaletteCAD are supported in a total of eight languages.

The portal functions as a hub for languages, file formats and drawing programs and in this way provides for standardised data exchange. In future, other application areas, such as virtual reality, augmented reality or holography and rendering will be possible.

Faster order processing

In addition, a new ERP (enterprise resource planning) system has been implemented. As a result, organisation and order processing will become far more efficient. "Order processing can take place with immediate effect 30 percent faster," underlined the managing partner, the engineer Maximilian Priglinger.

Customers ought to benefit primarily from faster order processing. The lifts can now be produced faster and in the end installed faster at the customer, according to the company. Moreover, the new Ascendor ERP system will contribute to inventory management, procurement planning and organisation as part of order management.
