LEIA: Paul Turner is the new President

LEIA, the UK trade association and advisory body for the lift and escalator industry, has appointed Paul Turner, Technical Director of Schindler, as its new President.

Paul Turner has been in the industry for more than 20 years, having worked for large lift companies and subcontractor businesses. He currently sits on the Schindler UK and Ireland Board of Management. During 2022 Paul Turner has served as Vice President working closely with the LEIA team.

Speaking about his appointment, the new LEIA-President commented, "It has been a pleasure to be part of the LEIA board for the past 3 years. I’m delighted to step into the role of President to continue that work."

Focus on sustainability

As part of his role, the new president plans to focus on sustainability: "We support the sustainable development of our towns and cities, through technology and innovation. In doing so we must be supportive and considerate of our: Environmental commitments, People, particularly people development and Governance."

LEIA thanked outgoing President Alastair Stannah for his time and commitment over the past twelve months.
