Kone Germany with new top management

Kone Germany has new management: Erik Kahlert became the chairman of the board of management on 1 March 2017 of Kone GmbH with its headquarters in Hanover.

The 48-year old engineer replaced Axel Berkling, who had been in charge of the company – the German subsidiary of the Finnish lift and escalator group Kone – from 2012 to 2016.

Berkling was appointed to the board of directors

“We want to continue to develop Kone as a customer-oriented company and in this respect in particular exploit the opportunities arising for our customers and us as a result of digitalisation and networking,” said Erik Kahlert, who previously held senior positions at Siemens and Sauter.

“As a highly innovative company, Kone is the technological leader within the lift industry. But in addition we are also a service provider with a pronounced customer orientation – we’re going to live this even more, especially since the wishes and needs of our customers are increasingly changing.”

Axel Berkling, Kahlert’s predecessor as chairman of the board of management of Kone GmbH, was appointed to the board of directors of the Kone Group and has since then been Executive Vice President of the Asia-Pacific region.
