Innovalift has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in the Turkish company Arkel. The Swedish group of companies intends to expand its geographical reach and add to its product portfolio of lift components.
The eight companies in the group develop, produce and distribute platform lifts, stairlifts and lift components. The German component manufacturer BS Tableau has also been part of the group since the beginning of 2024. Innovalift is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish investor AB Latour.
Arkel is a Turkish manufacturer of components for lifts, both for new installations and for modernisation projects. Founded in 1998, the Turkish company produces and sells complete control systems, integrated drive units and a wide range of related electronic components for lifts. Net sales amount to around 62 million euros (pro forma), with Turkey, continental Europe and India being the main markets. Arkel employs around 410 people.
‘This acquisition significantly strengthens Innovalift's position in control systems and related lift components while giving us access to new geographic markets,’ explains Andrea Veggian, CEO of Innovalift, in a press release.
"I am confident that Arkel will benefit from being part of the Innovalift family and the resulting co-operation between the companies. I am sure that this will benefit all our customers and employees,’ says Cenk Ceylan, CEO of Arkel. The acquisition is subject to approval by the competition authorities in Turkey.
