To meet the growing demand for frequency inverter for use in elevator technology, Gefran has expanded its plant in Gerenzano, Italy with a new production plant.
The resulting increase in capacities will be used for example to produce custom tailored drives. "The elevator sector is experiencing strong growth", reports Giuseppe Savoca, Sales Manager at Gefran. That is why the company decided to invest in the Gerenzano location by expanding the production capacities.
The Gerenzano plant produces inverters for the elevator buisiness. Since the end of last year, the production facilities totalling 1200 square metres are fully automated. For three production lines the company purchased new machines in order to manufacture custom products as well as lift inverters.
According to the company Gefran inverter with the optional Active Front End (AFE) technology can reduce energy consumption by up to 50 percent compared to conventional drive concepts. "The result is less environmental impact and lower operating costs", says Gefran. Recovered energy is fed into the mains via the elevator converter for further use while drastically reducing CO2 emissions.
The Gefran Group, which currently employs more than 800 people, has sales offices in Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Spain, Brazil, China, Singapore, India as well as in Turkey, Switzerland and the United States, and manufacturing plants in Germany, Brazil, China, the United States and Switzerland.
