In view of the recent death of Ami Lustig and Joseph Stier as well as the ongoing Corona pandemic, Elevcon has been postponed until next year.
At the end of 2021, the Chairman of the International Association of Elevator Engineers (IAEE) and the Chairman of the Elevcon Congress, Ami Lustig, as well as the Secretary of the IAEE Executive Committee and Chairman of the Executive Board, Joseph Stier, died.
Consequently, the organisers of the 23rd International Congress for Vertical Transport Technologies decided to postpone the Elevcon until 20 to 22 June 2023. It is to take place as planned in the Grandior Hotel in Prague. This would be enough time "to overcome the pandemic and the loss of two important committee members" according to Karen Krull of the IAEE & Elevcon Secretariat.
In the past, the Elevcon took place every two years in different locations: 2014 in Paris, 2016 in Madrid and 2018 in Berlin. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the congress was postponed from 2021 to 31 May to 2 June 2022.
