KPN will switch off 2G only at the end of 2027
The Dutch telecommunications company KPN has postponed the switch-off of its 2G network by two years. The new date is 1 December 2027.

It took four years - thanks to the covid pandemic - until a European Lift Congress (ELCH) could take place in Heilbronn again. The Heilbronn Technical Academy had organised the congress as usual, and the moderator Prof. Dr. Wolfram Vogel had put together the programme. Unfortunately, some speakers were unable to attend at short notice. Dr Gerhard Schiffner took over Esfandiar Gharibaan's lecture, Götz Weinmann and Matthiew Davies were also unable to attend. Wolfram Vogel stepped into the breach with a lecture on "Thinking and Acting the System Lift". The number of participants must have disappointed the organisers: Only just over 40 participants - including speakers - attended ELCH 2022.
