Two European lift associations have published a joint compendium. It should support the lift industry during the current coronavirus crisis and provide workers with practical information on how to behave.
The compendium "Basic general information note to work safely" outlines best practices to ensure safe behaviour at work. It is based on several existing national protocols.
The paper by the European Lift Association (ELA) and the European Federation for Elevator Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EFESME) aims to present a series of good practises to be put in place to behave safely while working, complementing already existing European, national, regional and local laws.
The present paper reflects the best knowledge of EFESME and ELA experts at the moment of its publication, the two European lift associations stress: "It is for general information purposes only, is not legally binding and should not be construed as legal advice."
