Tetsuya Horimoto named new managing director

News

To better cover the Japanese market, the Schmersal Group has established an independent subsidiary in Japan. Tetsuya Horimoto has been named managing director of the new Schmersal Japan KK.

Horimoto succeeds Dr Takashi Kabe, who retired at the end of 2017, after many years of success as the head of the former Schmersal sales office in Japan.

Faster customer supply

Horimoto is an electrical engineer with many years of management experience in renowned international automation companies and in addition a TÜV-qualified functional safety engineer.

"With the establishment of the subsidiary in Tokyo, Schmersal is set to expand its range of safety-related components and systems for the Japanese market," explained Tetsuya Horimoto.

The aim is to develop the Schmersal location in Japan both spatially as well as in terms of personnel. A warehouse of its own should ensure faster customer supply. The newly-established Schmersal Japan KK is at the same location as the previous Schmersal Japan branch office – the contact data remain unchanged.
