Horst Schickor, owner and managing director of SBR Aufzugtechnik GmbH, transferred his company shares to Benjamin Reining, Wilhelm Bromkamp and Marc George at the end of 2023.
Schickor set up the consulting company "Lift Consulting Horst Schickor" at the beginning of 2024 and as a result is still active as a lift consultant, planner and expert assessor. "I couldn’t just retire. I wanted to continue to deal with lifts actively and pass on my experience."
Schickor has been working in the lift sector for 40 year in total. After his training as an electrician, Schickor completed a distance learning course as "State Board Technician for Electrical Technology" and then attended evening school to become a master electrician and "Graduate Technician IHK".
In 1983, Schickor joined "Aufzugtechnik Niggemeier GBR" as master assembler and was then promoted to assembly director, technical director, authorised signatory and managing director. In 2018, he left the company and established SBR Aufzugtechnik GmbH with Wilhelm Bromkamp and Benjamin Reining.
Horst Schickor has been working in an honorary capacity for 15 years in the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and in the German Committee for Lifts (DAfA). In addition, the 66-year old is a member of the Working Group Standards and Regulations of the VFA and a member of the Advisory Board of the LIFTjournal.
