September 2019
TÜV Süd will be presenting its safety and security product range for lifts or smart elevators at the 2019 interlift in Augsburg (Hall 5, Stand 5,033).
Modern lifts feature an increasing number of IT systems that collect data or facilitate networking with the surrounding infrastructure or the manufacturer or maintenance company. According to a TÜV Süd press release, this increasing networking and the option for remote diagnosis and maintenance saved costs and improved lift availability,
"However, there are also new risks, especially regarding the security and protection of the data exchanged."
Manufacturers of lifts and components were faced with the challenge of guaranteeing both the functional safety of their systems as well as IT security – protection against hacker attacks.
According to TÜV Süd, it could assist manufacturers of lifts and components in this task with a wide range of services, which would be presented at the interlift.
