A new app for the lift sector

News

“Elevate” is a new app specially developed for lift sector requirements. It expands the already familiar Odoo ERP system with functions intended to serve the special needs of the lift sector.

The aim is to be able to intuitively manage lifts, customers, clients, emergency call and maintenance agreements as well as the ordering of spare parts with it. Elevate enables companies to manage and document their agreements and orders. All relevant information is available at a central location.

The app automates processes. The use of artificial intelligence for drawing up offers is intended to enable companies to save time and resources. In addition, the automated documentation of management tasks permits seamless traceability. This means the user always gets a list of the complete process history.

The various features of Odoo were programmed by Elevate for the special needs of the lift sector. For example, the app provides the option to manage lifts – independently of the customer. Moreover, a document archive for the lifts is integrated and linked to the individual instructions. In addition, a knowledge database can be developed for fitters. The vehicle fleet of the company and time recording, for example, can also be managed using it.

Accelerate digitalisation

Elevate was developed by the software engineer Anton Wolter in cooperation with the online marketing expert and former lift fitter Niklas Buchmüller. Usage of the app of the "Wolter & Buchmüller" depends on use of Odoo.

"We decided on the link to this ERP system because it offers functions that can accelerate the digitalisation of a company," explained the two managing directors Niklas Buchmüller and Anton Wolter.

The app is embedded directly in the ERP system and consequently has direct relations with the other data structures within the software system. This means no APIs are needed to integrate the processes. Thanks to its modular system architecture, the structures of related business processes can be mapped in the same database.

Practical experience

One of the first users was Schümann Aufzüge GmbH, which implemented this app in Odoo. Management tasks have been noticeably facilitated by the use of Elevate, reported Marco Schümann, managing director of Schümann Aufzüge. "It's more intuitive to operate than all the other systems I've previously encountered."
